Projects!

Time for a "word" post!  (Hooray!)

I feel like I've been catching up on some projects lately.  Some a bit more on the practical side, some a bit more on the creative side- and some a bit inbetween!

Practical:  Pictures get a new home!
It was time to "refresh"/update some of our pictures.  I have a really big frame, that fits 24 pictures, and we updated!  I also brought some new ones into work.  (This is on the "practical" side).  I do love the physical pictures.  Not all pictures should be "stuck" in the digital world!

On the Practical and Creative side:  Clipboards!
One of the activities I have enjoyed doing with the kids lately is coloring.  I can pull out my clip board, some color pencils, and whatever is around (like the cards from Zulily... I love those things!) and get some downtime - while doing something with the kids!  It keeps their hands off me (they both still want to sit with me and snuggle a little more than my comfort level, sometimes!) - and we still get in some special time.  The downside is that I didn't have enough clipboards to share.  BUT - clip boards are SUPER cheap!  So I got new ones - and as an added bonus, put our names and a picture on the back - so now we each have our "own" clipboard.  And they are awesome.

Tonight's purely "creative" project.... Straw Christmas Tree

Tonight's "project" was creative playtime with the kids.  I didn't want to play trains or blocks (again!), so I turned to my craft supplies for inspiration.

We came up with a Christmas Tree made out of paper straws... and then proceeded to decorate.  It was great fun to take turns gluing down each straw, and then to "go wild" with the decorating.

And lastly... We made our way to a museum in Fort Worth when we were visiting family recently, and I actually had a chance to sit down and make a craft!  It was fun.  I never knew how to do the rubber band bracelets - - but now, I'm an old pro.  My DH said, "I didn't know you knew how to do that."  I told him, "I didn't.  But I do know how to read directions!" (the directions were sitting on the table.)
