More Human Training...

Lesson #1: Do not let the us upstairs where we can access less-frequently used rooms. We hate pooping on leash. We'd much rather poop in privacy, on the floor in your bonus room.

Lesson #2: Do not leave "cushion" showing on the couch. We think it's a stuffed toy and we want to destroy it!

Lesson #3: Strangers are not allowed. No neighbors, no fence contractors, no dogs, nobody, nothing. It doesn't matter if we've only lived here for 4 or 5 days, it's still our territory.

Lesson #4: We don't care if you think it's a good idea to let us out one at a time. If we need to go, we will make every effort to run behind you so we can escape.

Lesson #5: We need more exercise. We don't care if you are unpacking boxes and tired and pregnant, we haven't gotten a walk in too long. Play time doesn't count. Take us on a walk!

With love,
Katie-girl (and to a lesser extent, perhaps, Kobe-dog)

But, Mom!!!

While Seth and I are enjoying the great new house.... Someone forgot to tell the dogs!

They are all out of sorts. Even though they have more space inside and out... The house doesn't smell like them yet. And they don't like (or want to?) pee/poo on leash (since the backyard isn't fenced yet).

Sigh....

They were in the Kennel for daycare on moving day. When we brought them to the new house, neither one wanted to finish their dinner. Katie keeps trying to rub her scent on the carpet.

Hopefully they figure this out soon. That, or perhaps I was due - - and they are helping prepare me better for a baby.

The heat is on!

We're officially moving in two days! Overall, I'm pretty excited. And I'll be much more excited once it's all done.

Highs for the weekend are supposed to approach 90! Hopefully these guys work fast so they don't have to sweat out the entire afternoon (that would also make it cheaper for us!)

A few more boxes need to be packed hear and there.

I've been tired all day today, so maybe it's time for a nap.

Maybe by the next post, we'll be DONE moving! That would be really nice.

What's Next?

We've spent lots of time this weekend packing! We move in less than a week now, and we still have tons of packing to do!

We got the keys... all 6000 of them... and wen ton a tour of our house today, now that it is empty. Yard needs to be mowed, and we didn't realize that our "new" couch (left by prior owners) is red. But alas, we're a few steps closer!

Tomorrow we check out a daycare!

Whew!

Boobs!

Before I turned 30, I read this book about 99 things you were supposed to do before you turned thirty. One of the things you are supposed to do is to be officially sized for a bra. Ok, no problem.

I went to Victoria Secret, thinking I'd finally splurge on one of the fancy-ish, expensive bras. And when I went, I asked to be measured. Now mind you, I've always been very small on top. I'm a petite girl to begin with (which should be interpreted to mean short more than tiny). And I've always carried my weight more in my hips.

My official measurement was a 34A. And here I'd been wearing a 32B mostly! It was a little sad. I guess I was destined to be tiny-boobed.

Of course, boobs are one of those things you can guarantee will change while you are pregnant. Not only do they begin to fill out, but they begin to actually function for their intended purpose... so at the end of the experience, you can feed your hungry baby!

One of my first pregnancy symptoms/complaints was migraines. The second: Sore boobs.

And now? Well, they aren't so much sore any more. But they are definitely filling out. In the frumpy shirt I have on today, I actually noticed them!

So perhaps that's more about my upper body than you really wanted to know. And perhaps it's more than I should share. Either way, it's a fact of life.

The passing of Trimester Uno...

As of today (ish), I'm technically supposed to be out of my first trimester.

I'm hoping that means no more puking. Please keep you fingers and toes crossed for me!

I have been feeling better lately. I went shopping today - and actually ENJOYED it!! Yay! I didn't lose energy, either. Perhaps the pre-natal yoga DVD earlier today helped. Or perhaps the bike ride I finally went on yesterday. Who knows - - but hopefully it stays this way!

I spent more than I should have on Maternity clothes.. but I figure money spent now (which is still a little early, since I'm still in most of my pre-preg clothes still) will pay off when nothing fits. They even had a "baby bump" I could try stuff on with at the maternity store, so I could think through what I might look like in another several months - yikes!!!

My food likes (cravings?) lately have included dill pickles, any kind of fruit or fruity anything (pop tarts, toaster streudels, carmel apples, pie), mashed potatoes, and lots of soup. Overall, I feel like I'm eating less than I did pre-pregnancy, actually - - but snacking slightly more. I'm also barely starting to gain some weight... but for the most part, I just feel fat and tight. Fat 'cause it's not totally obvious yet that I'm pregnant (although I did get a complement on my maternity tank top today at a restaurant), and tight because everything seems to be stretching - or at the very least, feels like it needs to be or should!

Now, off for another snack so I'm not starving by dinner time...

Baby!

I was waiting until our doctor's appointment confirmed to officially post - - - but we now have confirmation that I'm not just sick (and craving things) all the time - I am pregnant! 12 weeks and 1 day to be exact.. On Friday, we got to see our first ultrasound picture (5 centimeters) - and we got our official due date of October 17th!

We are very excited.

So - - I assure you there will be more posting about baby you can expect in the future. Things such as putting a registry together, shopping for maternity clothes, and everything in between. I've wanted a baby since I was 10 or 12 years old and first started babysitting. I can hardly believe that I now have one on the way! Although it was not a surprise - and was planned as much as you can plan these things - I was amazed at how quickly it actually happened!!

Anyhow. More to come - - including the first ultrasound pic!
