What's new?

Some days, it seems, life is flashing before my eyes in an instant!  So much is going on, that I'm sure I will look back and forget all the day-to-day of my young children.  So, this blog updates a month (or so) worth of what has happened in our "neck" of the woods!

Baby G (13 months old today, so really not a baby anymore) has been sick, and has outgrown her baby car seat.  She's also transitioning to toddlers at daycare.  She's starting to stand on her own, some - but still a bit resistant to walking.  Lately, she has had the giggles.  It's so fun to make a kid giggle - no matter what age they are!

Kiddo had his first "dinner party" with his stuffed animal friends (and got to use real plates and cups), and hopes to host another dinner party soon - hopefully, for real friends.  He often tells me who he has invited to come over to our house (regardless of the fact that I don't know half the parents of the kids he talks about).  He's been very into the dramatic play (dress up clothes, play kitchen, bags, etc) and block center (building blocks in sizes ranging from legos to bricks to shoe boxes) at daycare.  No books or artwork for this kid, just anything social.  A follower, and not a leader.  A talker.

DH just had another birthday, which was really just "OK" by my vote - - I had been sick, and didn't even manage to make a cake.  I did bring home pie (lemon meringue) for pi day two days before, though!

Our next family adventure - after I have a brief work trip - will be to Nashville, TN and to Mammoth Cave, Kentucky.  We will be able to "knock" another state off of our list of states to visit.

One day, I'd like to count:
the number of states I have been to:
the number states (and countries) DH and I have been to together
the number of states Kiddo and Baby G have visited

I might have thought to do that tonight... but just getting in a "real" blog post has me totally worn out!
